BOTANICAL ECOLOGY, EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGY, AND CONSERVATION
EASTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY
CHAMBERS LAB
We focus on botanical research questions that seek to understand species distribution patterns, evolutionary history and biogeography, community structure, and how these factors can provide relevant and applied information for conservation practitioners. We focus on a variety of taxa, many of which are poorly understood, to examine patterns of biodiversity across geographic space and geologic time. Research efforts span both temperate and tropical locations and utilize a combination of field work, molecular approaches, and computational modeling. The utilization and contribution of herbarium collections are key to all of these research endeavors. Visit the research page to learn more about current projects and scientific approaches employed in our lab.
